Sorry, but that’s about soothing your ego and making you feel acknowledged more than anything else. I don’t think someone should be obligated or expected to write a response like that, nor do I think it’s rude if they don’t. I have enough emails to answer every day in my day to day life. I don’t need to respond to every single message I get in my online dating inbox as well.
Uhm, it has nothing to do with my ego or any need to feel acknowledged. None whatsoever. It has to do with a little saying that I try and live by “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I think that comes from the bible, but religion has nothing to do with why I try and live by it. It is just the right thing to do.
